D.E. was born in the United States to a mother from Ghana. He had traveled back and forth as a child, but spent all of his adult life in the states. An exciting job opportunity required him to travel internationally, and so he applied for a U.S. passport as any other citizen. Unfortunately, the government questioned the legitimacy of his citizenship, which threatened his entire existence in this country. STERN Law rose to the challenge while everyone else turned it down: we stood up proudly with D.E., creatively demanded that the government issue the passport, and D.E. was finally recognized as a legitimate U.S. Citizenship like the rest of us! This took years before he found STERN Law.
